The Literacy Council of St. Petersburg is an all-volunteer run non-profit and at our very core, it’s our tutors who keep us going. We would be unable to help our adult learners without the commitment, devotion, and dedicated caring of our volunteer tutors. Some tutor/student pairings last for just a short time. Some last for years. However long it lasts, we often hear from our tutors that the time spent with their student is what they look forward to most each week. Learn more about how to be come a tutor.
Our adult learners are motivated to improve their lives through education. Often fitting in their meetings with their tutors between family and job commitments, the perseverance of our learners is outstanding and the value they place on learning is inspiring.
If you know an adult who could use some assistance - from a beginning learner to studying for the GED - please tell them about the Literacy Council of St. Petersburg and let them know it’s easy to contact us.
